Juul Kortekaas

The Tulip with its captivating history has stolen a piece of my heart.
She tries to strip the Tulip of its obviousness and almost banality. To bring the Tulip back to the time when it was seen as "the flower of God." For divinely beautiful he is.
Formality and movement are intertwined.

She paints the flowers and leaves on large canvases and prefers to elevate them in human & superhuman dimensions.
Most of the time, the flowers are depicted in triptychs and Fibonacci series.
The power is thereby amplified, the power of repetition & size & form imagination.
The eloquence of the canvases may be overwhelming.
The magnification of what we take so much for granted may bring a piece of magic and wonder back into the soul.
The canvases hope for a contemplative effect!
