René van der Klooster RVDK art&design

His visual work has its origins in an intense dream world, a certain grasp of the unconscious and frequent mystical experiences. The profound subjects that arise from these, he captures mainly in lime wood panels. He carves these panels creating an additional dimension of light and shadow. He then manipulates this relief with a diverse range of other materials and techniques.

In addition to being a visual artist, he is an architect and writer. He has written an epic work of poetry, short stories, two plays and a one-act play, as well as a series of poems written in English.

In 2017, he was one of the participants of the 'Beeldenstorm' exhibition at the Abbey of Middelburg with nine artworks. In 2019, he participated in Art Shopping at the Louvre in Paris. Two of his poems have been published in India.
