Center for contemporary art

Art with a capital V

Art with a capital K stands for established art. Vleeshal develops and shows art with a capital V: versatile, surprising and innovative.

Vleeshal is a center for contemporary art. Together with (inter)national artists, Vleeshal develops new works especially for its unique gothic exhibition space. Since the 1970s, films, videos, performances, music, paintings and installations have been presented at Vleeshal.

Each year there are 3-4 exhibitions, with an accompanying public and educational program, at Vleeshal. In addition, a nomadic program is organized outside the walls of Vleeshal. Vleeshal also produces art books.

Inspiring space

The Vleeshal's special space has inspired many (inter)national artists to break new ground in their practice. These include Cally Spooner, Ola Vasiljeva, Simone Forti, Andrea Éva Györi, Matthew Lutz-Kinoy and Paul Maheke.'
