Gistpoort

Sweeping down St. Peter's Street you'll find the Gistpoort, a late Gothic building. Originally the Gistpoort was the eastern gateway to the Abbey complex. It is also called the Blue Gate or Blue Gate because of the blue stone in its construction. Another name is the "Anchor Gate," in homage to beer brewery "Den Anker," which was once located at this site. Above the gate are three statues; one of them is Count William the Second, Count of Holland and Zeeland.
