Court Under the Tower

At the foot of the Lange Jan you will find the court "Onder den Toren." Built in 1943 at the initiative of the city council as part of the reconstruction effort. The court was designed in the style of the Delft School and features housing for the elderly with small windows, red roof tiles and a teahouse in one corner. It was intended for poor, elderly ladies. Today this historic site is recognized as a national monument.
