Atelier Joke Apner

Joke Apner (b. 1944) learned to draw and paint as a child at the Werkschuit in Amsterdam. That was under the guidance of a group of artists. Later, during her training in Graphic Design, she was introduced to lino printing, woodcut, etching, screen printing, color theory and, of course, graphic design.

After her studies, she worked at a large advertising agency in Amsterdam. In 1979 she moved to Middelburg where she worked as a graphic designer for 23 years.

Since 2000 she has picked up painting and watercolor. Enjoys working with paint, paper, linen. And not with computers.
