Koepoort

The Koepoort is one of Middelburg's most iconic monuments, located on the edge of the center, next to the Schouwburg and overlooking the Molenwater Park and the Bolwerk. This centuries-old city gate, built in 1739 and carefully restored in 1992-1993, now offers luxury lodging accommodations.

The current Koepoort is Middelburg's last remaining city gate; originally, the gate served as an important defensive structure and access point to the city.

Middelburg itself offers plenty of opportunities for a pleasant stay, with atmospheric terraces, boutiques and cultural attractions. Furthermore, the Walcheren region is rich in picturesque villages such as Veere, Domburg, Zoutelande and Oostkapelle, all easily reached by bicycle.

A stay at De Koepoort offers the opportunity to experience history while enjoying contemporary luxury and the best of what Middelburg and Walcheren have to offer.
