De Kaepstander
The Kaepstander offers a cozy stay in a monumental building from the 18th century. This building, with its original oak spiral staircase, carries guests from the first floor to the top floor. The name De Kaepstander refers to a historic hoisting mechanism, which is still visible on the outside of the house.
The decoration of the B&B has been carefully composed, with an eye for detail and comfort. Guests can enjoy a well-stocked bookcase, various board games, a piano and other musical instruments. There is plenty of space to meet and taste the cozy atmosphere of Middelburg.
Check-in: can be from 16:00 to 20:00. Consultation is possible for a later time. Check out can be before 10:30 am. Breakfast can be booked separately when booking and is served between 7:00 am and 9:30 am.
The property features a monumental spiral staircase leading to the 2nd and 3rd floors. This staircase can be a bit steep for some people. Therefore, the B&B is not suitable for people who have difficulty climbing stairs.
Bram Francke, a former history teacher, and Christine Francke, working as an interim manager, are happy to welcome guests to their cozy B&B. The sociable cat Franco can often be found in and around the house and contributes to the homely atmosphere.
