Urker MANS Formatie

The well-known singing group Urker MANS Formation led by Martin Mans will give a Passion and Easter concert on Saturday, March 29 at 2:30 p.m. in the Koorkerk in Middelburg. The historic building provides the backdrop for the renditions of the Passion and Resurrection story which will be rendered expressively. The song 'The Way of the Cross' is a good example of this. The listener walks as it were along this difficult road and feels the emotion. But also in "Eli, Eli, Lama Sabachthani," the listener walks along to the inevitable end. Accompaniment on the organ and grand piano is in the hands of Mark Brandwijk who adds an extra dimension to the vocals. In addition to his accompaniment, he performs some improvisations on connecting themes. Moreover, the singers of the formation almost all sing a solo or a duet, which does justice to their individual voices. Conductor Martin Mans is the driving force behind this ensemble. The ensemble was founded in 2011 and gives a series of summer and Christmas concerts every year. In recent years, a series of Passion and Easter concerts has been added. The content of the Easter repertoire is often poignant and the songs are performed in an expressive manner. The singers have considerable stage experience and are semi-professional or professional. The solos and duets of the individual singers confirm their singing quality. In the Netherlands the men travel from north to south and from east to west to give their concerts. But also during several tours in Canada they have left an unforgettable impression. It is a close-knit group that complements each other in singing and music.
