For the entire month of March, the English Church in the heart of Middelburg is the place where art and inspiration come together during Rosette Verschueren's exhibition Soul. The official opening will take place on Saturday afternoon, March 1.
About the art of Rosette Verschueren
In her studio Rosette works with complete devotion on portraying people, in which the human face is central. She is guided by the famous words of Leonardo da Vinci: "The eyes are the mirrors of the soul". It is precisely in a glance or a subtle facial expression that Rosette tries to capture the inner world of her subject and make it visible.
A palette of emotions and techniques
Rosette works with conté crayon, charcoal and pastel to tell a story with lines and planes. Her work ranges from portraits and flowers to ruins and trees, each one a source of comfort and beauty. Her art conveys joy, hope and a sense of security.
The exhibition in the English Church is a special extension of her intimate studio on Singelstraat, Middelburg's smallest exhibition space. In the grand late Gothic setting of the English Church, her works take on a new dimension.
Experience the soul in every portrait
Rosette Verschueren draws, paints what touches her and captures that experience. Each work of art is an encounter with the beauty of life and an invitation to reflect on what moves us.
Specifically for this exhibition, Rosette has created 20 new works of art that fit seamlessly within the theme Soul. Together, these unique pieces form a visual journey through emotions, stories and experiences.
Look into the eyes of her portraits and discover the soul reflected in them. Be inspired by the comforting power of her art.
