More than 6 million copies of his comics have been sold, not counting passing them on to the next generation(s). Robert van der Kroft has been a professional cartoonist for more than 50 years, drawing for Disney in the Donald Duck, but is best known for his creation Claire and for the duo Sjors and Sjimmie, which he quickly transformed into two multicultural hiphoppers... In his fascinating theater lecture De lijn van Robert van der Kroft he tells the audience all about the development of the comic strip, since the beginning of the last century until now, and in particular his experiences over the past 50 years.
The comic strip: you grow up with it and even as a (young) adult you remain surrounded by it. Therefore, the world of comics is particularly broad, because in this spectrum, in addition to traditional comic book drawing, include cartoons, mangas, animations, comics and games. The film world, including DC Universe or Marvel movies, are also derived from comic books. Almost every week there is a comic book fair, a Comic Con or comic-related movie, and attendance numbers are in the millions. In other words, the comic book drawing is everywhere.
With its own recognizable drawing line, the use of colors, or how the cartoons of the past are the inspiration for the films and world of today: Robert will have his first look at this matter in the theater. A special look behind the scenes for young and old and the opportunity to walk out of the theater happy, with a wealth of information and unexpected facts. Extra: every visitor will receive an exclusive mini comic book!
