'How beautiful she was' is a theatrical production made by kleinkunstenares Dinette Kooiman in 2022 as part of the part-time course 'Making Theater' at the Academy for Word, Music and Dance in Mortsel (Belgium).
The performance consists of a monologue with texts by Etty Hillesum interspersed with the songs from the Mauthausen Cycle by Mikis Theodorakis. The songs are performed by a small choir and a number of instrumentalists led by Mattie De Ryck.
The monologue takes you into the life of Etty Hillesum in Amsterdam and Westerbork and has already been performed several times in various theaters in the vicinity of Antwerp.
