Pianist and Glass specialist Feico Deutekom is once again coming to Middelburg. This time to present his latest album with the Piano Etudes of Philip Glass in an intimate atmosphere. A special concert, especially since this album was recorded in the Zeeland Concert Hall. In addition, the seating arrangement is completely different this time. For this recital Feico Deutekom has made a selection of the most beautiful Etudes, ranging from the most rhythmically rousing, the most lyrical, to the most personal and tranquil music Philip Glass ever wrote.
Philip Glass, the world famous composer and founder of minimal music wrote the Etudes over a period of 20 years. Initially, as he himself once said, to improve his own piano technique, later pianists around the world took up the challenge and are taking listeners all over the world through this wonderful late work. Meanwhile, Glass' Etudes are spoken of in the same breath as those of Debussy or Chopin.
