Led by big names in Belgian chamber music, such as Sophie Hallynck and Guy Danel, and winner of the prestigious Léopold Bellan International Competition in 2017, the Edenwood Duo - founded in 2016 - has set out to raise awareness of the repertoire for cello and guitar.
The duo is composed of the talented Catherine Struys (classical guitar) and Wouter Vercruysse (cello), two musicians who leave a deep impression with their exceptional ensemble playing and interpretations.
The Edenwood Duo is constantly searching for new compositions and collaborates with inspiring composers to create unique pieces of music. Their impressive repertoire includes the world premieres of Suite for Cello and Guitar by Alan Charlton (Cloud and Mirrors), Soledad by Armand Coeck and Sérénade by Nicolas Meunier (Light Blue).
With performances in prestigious venues such as the Royal Academy of Music in London and De Bijloke in Ghent, and at renowned festivals such as the Cap Ferret International Music Festival and the Summer of Saint Peter, the Edenwood Duo has made its name on international stages.
The duo has now released four albums, including the recent Light Blue (December 2021), a beautiful collection of compositions, some of them written especially for this virtuoso duo.
