This Sunday afternoon will focus on the art of ceramics and the Japanese painting technique sumi-e. Sylvia Radius will show works from her oeuvre created with ink and a bamboo brush on bamboo paper.

Sumi-e is characterized by the balance between ink and water, minimalist yet powerful brushstrokes in a hushed composition. The essence of forms captured in a subtle and expressive way.

For this occasion Sylvia has invited a special guest: artist and collector Giel Louws. He will bring a selection of works from his impressive collection, with a particular focus on early Chinese ceramics. Giel will not only show his collection, but also talk about his deep fascination with these ceramic art forms. His knowledge and passion make this afternoon a unique opportunity to learn more about the aesthetics, history and significance of Chinese ceramics.

Come along and be inspired by the fusion of Oriental painting and ancient ceramic traditions!
