During the summer months, the Zeeuws Museum offers tours of Middelburg Abbey, a place with more than a thousand years of history. During the tour, stories come to life about the medieval city, the old balance sheet, slavery, World War II, the Four Freedoms Awards, organs, ancient tombs, herbs, sycamores, and the lives of monks, canons, lay brothers and the Maneblussers. This Dutch-language guided tour is suitable for children ages ten and up and takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. during the summer months.

Photographer Mieke Wijnen offers a mini-workshop in smartphone photography during the SmartWalk. The walk takes 2 hours .begins with a brief explanation of the camera app's functions. Along the way you will do some creative exercises to test out these functions. At the end you edit your best photo with an app, for example to frame it later.

Travel through time in Middelburg and take a special journey through the city, where playfulness meets education. Every first Sunday of the month, with the exception of January, the participants of the Kunst & Cultuurroute Middelburg open their doors especially for visitors. Most of the galleries and studios are located in the historic heart of Middelburg and are within walking distance of each other, creating a beautiful route. Between 1 and 5 p.m. you are welcome to walk in, look around and meet the makers of all the beauty you see. Since a few years the Art & Culture Route also coincides with the shopping Sunday. You can recognize the participants by the flag with the logo of the Art & Culture Route.
